Xu Jingsheng, deputy chief engineer of China National Chemical Information Center and former deputy director of the National Chemical Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Center, revealed recently that in the “12th Five-Year Plan” energy-saving and emission-reduction scope, the binding “denitrification” will be increased. It is expected that during the "12th Five-Year Plan" and "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, the country's investment demand in this area will reach trillions of yuan respectively.

Xu Jingsheng disclosed the above information at the "12th Five-Year Plan" China Fine Chemical Industry Development Seminar co-sponsored by China Chemical Industry Network and the International Chemical Industry Association's Chemical Branch.

“The energy-saving and environmental protection industry ranks first among the seven strategic emerging industries, involving energy conservation and environmental protection technologies, equipment, products and services, and the future investment will continue to expand.” Xu Jingsheng said, “This year, the country’s investment in energy conservation It has reached 88.3 billion yuan, and it is expected to reach 450 billion yuan during the 12th Five-Year Plan period."

The environmental protection investment demand during the "12th Five-Year Plan" is even greater. Among these, she believes that the new environmental protection requirement that deserves the most attention is "denitrification." "In the period of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, China has imposed compulsory provisions on 'off*' and 'dedusting', and 'denitrification' during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period will be included in the environmental protection of hard targets." Xu Jingsheng said.

It is reported that as a result of the decrease in the number of oxidants*, acid rain in many parts of the country has now changed from ** to **; at the same time, the increasing number of ammonia nitrogen in the water causing eutrophication has also caused frequent occurrence of cyanobacteria in some lakes in China.

According to Xu Jingsheng, the state will include nitrogen oxides in the total control of energy-saving and emission reduction during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period, and the essence of controlling nitrogen oxides is “denitrification”. In the future, it will implement forced “denitrification” as if it were “forced”.

"The investment demand here is quite large during the 12th Five-Year Plan and the 13th Five-Year Plan period, each reaching trillions of yuan," said Xu Jingsheng.

The denitrification technology currently used by most domestic enterprises is still in the stage of introduction, digestion and absorption and preliminary application. Among the listed companies, only Jiulong Power Subsidiary Zhongdiantou Yuanda has built a demonstration project of denitrification - the first single-unit unit in China, and Shanghai Waigaoqiao Third Power Generation Co., Ltd., a coal-fired unit denitrification project. In addition, Longjing Environmental has also started to engage in denitrification.

In addition, Xu Jingsheng also proposed to pay attention to the sub-sectors such as wastewater treatment, seawater desalination, bio-method removal, energy purification, and bag dusting during the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan” period.
