The Long March No. 5 core first-class power system completed the second test run with a total length of about 33 meters.

The reporter learned from the National Defense Science and Technology Industry Bureau on the 23rd that at 16 o'clock in the afternoon, the Long March 5 carrier rocket successfully carried out the second test of the core-level power system in Beijing. The test drive was a major node for the development of the Long March 5 launch vehicle project, which further verified the correctness of the core-level module design and laid a solid foundation for the launch vehicle to be transferred into the launching ceremony during the year.

The first product of the Long March 5 carrier rocket core used in this test is 5 meters in diameter and 33 meters in total length. It is mainly composed of arrow structure, pressurized conveying, measuring, control, servo and other systems. It is non-toxic and non-polluting. Liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen are used as propellants, and two liquid hydrogen liquid oxygen engines with a ground thrust of 50 tons are equipped. After ignition, the rocket core level system works stably, and the engine is normally shut down according to the predetermined procedure to achieve the intended purpose.

Xu Dazhe, director of the National Defense Science and Technology Bureau, said that the Long March 5 launch vehicle is China's first new generation of launch vehicle, which can increase China's ability to enter space by more than 2.5 times, and deepen the application of China's new high-strength and lightweight materials. Foundation.

It is understood that the Long March 5 launch vehicle is China's current largest carrying capacity rocket, which can achieve a maximum capacity of 14 tons of geosynchronous transfer orbit. The rocket was developed by China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation's Carrier Rocket Technology Research Institute. After eight years of hard work, it has completely broken through 12 major projects and more than 200 key core technologies and entered the large-scale ground test stage. The overall technical indicators for engineering development rank first in Asia and the top three in the world. The engineering development span, technical difficulty and task implementation scale are the first in the history of China's launch vehicle development.

The Long March V rocket is scheduled to take the first flight test in 2016. Around the 2017, the No. 5 detector was launched at the Hainan launch site and sent to the Earth-Moon transfer orbit.
