What is the pickup sensitivity? The pickup sensitivity is an indicator that reflects the sound-electricity conversion capability of the pickup. The method we use is expressed in dB and is defined as 0dB=1V/Pa@1KHz, that is 1KHz frequency, 1V(rms) voltage under the action of sound pressure intensity 1Pa, and the sensitivity is 0dB. In the order of -40dB, -30dB, -10dB, 0dB, and +10dB, the sensitivity gradually increases.

Some people mistakenly believe that the sensitivity refers to the smallest sound signal that can be picked up, so the smaller the value is, the more negative it is. The sensitivity is even higher. The rear-end connection devices of the pickups include hard disk video recorders, acquisition cards, encoders, network video servers, network cameras, computer sound cards, active speakers, mixers, optical transceivers, and audio arrays. The input signal level range required by these devices is very different. The only way to solve the problem is to adjust the sensitivity of the pickup. The wider the sensitivity adjustment range, the better the ability to adapt to different devices.
