Fusha Safeguards Green Building Standards

From 2014 onwards, public welfare projects invested by the provincial government and affordable housing in Xiamen and Fuzhou will implement green building standards.

In the development of green buildings, our province will support powerful real estate companies to develop green residential districts, especially 20,000 square meters for residential buildings of 100,000 square meters or more. Large public buildings above are planned and designed according to green building standards.

By 2015, the province will strive to increase green building area by more than 10 million square meters, including 2 million square meters each in Xiamen and Fuzhou, 1 million square meters in Quanzhou, Putian, Zhangzhou, and Longyan Pingtan, and 350,000 square meters each in Ningde, Sanming, and Nanping. Establish green ecological districts such as Wuyi New District and Xiamen Xiang'an New District to guide the scale development of one-star green buildings. Promote the green building evaluation mark, establish 100 green building star projects, each with district, city and Pingtan have one, two and three star projects.

At the same time, we will vigorously promote renewable energy, support residential buildings under 12 floors, newly built affordable housing, dormitory, wards, hotels and other new public buildings and existing buildings to install solar water heating systems. Support rural areas to promote solar hot water.

Our province will also establish a green building standard system. To compile and improve the province's green building design, construction, operation management, evaluation and related technologies, product standards, and procedures, and provide standard basis for the development of green buildings.
