Qingdao successfully developed the 3000 m acoustic deep drag system

Recently, the 3,000-meter acoustic deep-drag system jointly developed by Qingdao Institute of Marine Geology and the Institute of Acoustics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and CSIC 702 has completed the assembly and successfully passed the first underwater test.

The system is the first 3,000-meter light weak positive buoyancy acoustic deep drag system developed in China for the exploration of natural gas hydrate resources in the sea. In addition to the fine submarine superficial structure and micro-geomorphology in the hydrate-bearing area, the system can also be equipped with a variety of sensors to obtain basic data and data on the physical ocean and geochemistry of seawater. The underwater test shows that the overall balance of the deep tow system is good, and the next step will be transferred to the lake test stage to conduct an overall test on the deep tow system. The successful research and development of the deep tow system will effectively improve the exploration level of China's marine natural gas hydrate resources and provide technical support for the investigation of natural gas hydrates in the sea.
