Chinalco Group's alumina mining and smelting technology research passed acceptance

Recently, China National Aluminum Corporation took the main responsibility, and the National Science and Technology Support Project “Central China University of Science and Technology, Beijing Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy” and other units participated in the research project of “Study on High Efficiency and Low Consumption of Aluminum Oxide Smelting Technology”. The project has passed the acceptance by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The project has for the first time developed low-grade bauxite anti-flotation, high-temperature desiliconization and high-temperature pressure settling, as well as drying and calcination techniques and equipment for alkali-containing ores and high-solids ores, achieving low-grade bauxite alumina recovery. Greater than 70.60%, good indicators of thermal efficiency 20% increase over conventional methods. The overall process technology has reached the international advanced level.
