In order to solve the problem that China's major tool manufacturers do not have super-hard tool products and can not meet the huge demand for advanced and efficient tools in domestic manufacturing industry, since 2002, Harbin University of Science and Technology has passed polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN) and polycrystalline diamond. (referred to as PCD) Research on the tool manufacturing technology and productization technology of two types of advanced super-hard tool materials, developed a total of 10 varieties, 25 specifications of PCBN super-hard series tools and 7 varieties, 21 specifications of PCD super Hard series tools, including advanced tools such as multi-tooth PCD tools and coated PCBN tools.
Liu Xianli, a professor at the School of Mechanical Dynamics of Harbin University of Science and Technology, said that these ultra-hard materials high-efficiency series of tools are widely used in more than 10 industries such as national defense, instrumentation, automobile manufacturing, heavy machinery and power station equipment, and have achieved Better results. Harbin Electric Machinery Co., Ltd. used PCD tools developed by them to process large generator coil vents, which has a life expectancy of 100 times that of the original cemented carbide tools and expanded production capacity.
In addition, through the in-depth study of the use of super-hard tools and high-efficiency hard-precision cutting technology, they have also produced high-quality precision surfaces with Ra=0.195μm. At present, this index is at an advanced level in the world.
