Biodiesel Network September 12: Since 2015, the domestic biodiesel market has been in trouble, refinery shipments have been severely blocked, and profits have fallen sharply. The amount of imported biodiesel is also not optimistic. Under the influence of low domestic biodiesel prices, traders are basically unprofitable and will withdraw from the market.
On the one hand, since 2015, China's economic growth has slowed down, and the infrastructure industry, industry and mining, which have a large demand for diesel oil, have weakened, and the situation of oversupply in the market has become more prominent. Affected by this, the domestic blending oil market showed a downward trend. The profit of oil blenders was meager, and the purchase of biodiesel was reduced. On the other hand, the prices of substitutes continued to decline, and their market prices were lower than biodiesel. Cost, choose more low-cost raw materials, and the firewood, non-standard diesel is the best choice for users.
In terms of imported resources, the amount of imported biodiesel has been greatly reduced since 2015. According to customs data, the total amount of imported biodiesel from January to July 2015 was only 12,000 tons, down 97.64% year-on-year.
The reason for this analysis is that, on the one hand, the domestic biodiesel market continues to be sluggish, the market price has fallen to a low level, and the price of imported resources is high, and traders are simply unprofitable and have to withdraw from the market. On the other hand, due to the high cost of inland transportation, most of the imported biodiesel is sold in the coastal areas of East China and South China, and biodiesel is mostly replaced by catalytic diesel and Changchai in the northern region, while biodiesel in coastal areas is mainly used. Reconciling marine fuels and diesel for large machinery, the overall demand for biodiesel in the northern region is less than that in the South. However, the fishing season, the rainy season, and the low demand for diesel oil all affect the sales of imported biodiesel. Coupled with the market competition of domestic biodiesel, the sales of imported biodiesel is not optimistic.
Outlook for the market outlook: In the short-term, the international crude oil futures price may fluctuate, and the guidance for the domestic biodiesel market is limited. As the weather gradually cools, the pace of agricultural harvest in autumn will accelerate, and the demand for marine diesel in the south will also increase, but in the price of substitutes. Under the premise of low prices, whether biodiesel shipments will improve or not will remain unknown. On the whole, in the later period, the domestic biodiesel market price may be dominated by stable and narrow fluctuations.
