Report Says China's Wind Power Grid Consolidation

On June 16th, the International Environmental Protection Organization Greenpeace and the China Resources Comprehensive Utilization Association's Renewable Energy Professional Committee jointly issued the “Infinite Scenery - China Wind Power Development Report 2011”. According to the report, China will continue to lead the development of global wind power in the next few years, supported by the more mature and stable “12th Five-Year” renewable energy development policy of the Chinese government.

In 2010, China's wind power equipment production and wind farm development showed strong growth momentum, with a cumulative installed capacity of 44.73 GW, ranking first in the world.

The report pointed out that while China’s wind power continues to develop at high speeds, it still faces some obvious challenges, such as the challenges in equipment quality, more intense trade competition worldwide, and coordination among departments. In particular, the bottleneck of wind power integration has been continuously highlighted, and the difference between lifting capacity and grid connection capacity is much higher than the international level.

Li Ang, director of the Greenpeace Climate and Energy Program, said that China has a long way to go from using large wind power, and it needs a strong grid-connected policy to ensure the utilization rate of renewable energy and the development momentum of the wind power industry. This will allow the development of other renewable energy sources in the future. Important.

The report believes that Chinese wind power urgently needs to complete the transition from rapid development to healthy development. The key factor in promoting this transformation is a pragmatic and positive industrial support policy.

The report also pointed out that after the wind power, photovoltaic power generation is expected to become another explosive growth point in China's renewable energy industry.

At present, photovoltaic power generation has met or exceeded the conditions before accelerated wind power development in 2005 on the basis of resources and industries. The report pointed out that China is the world's largest PV module manufacturing country, but 95% of its production is exported to foreign countries and the domestic market is very limited. To present the "China speed" of renewable energy development again, photovoltaic power generation needs to solve problems such as market development and industrial support policies.

The report recommends that starting in 2011, in the field of photovoltaic power generation, China began to implement a fixed electricity price policy with resource differences and cost reduction drivers, and incorporated its electricity consumption on-grid into the cost-sharing plan of renewable energy power generation to provide subsidies and Subsidy.
